Conkers and Spiders

No, they weren’t posted on anyone’s stall as they are free to all, but my lovely friend in the village, who knows I hate spiders,  has just presented with two huge bags of conkers to help me keep the little crawly ones away – thanks Mike !
I did put a notice on my 2good2tip stall however,  asking if anyone locally had any surplus, as I would gladly come and clear them from their lawn – it worked !

There is much debate at the moment about the effectiveness of conkers at keeping the arachnids out – the Sunday Telegraph are running a piece on it.  All I can say is, I can’t prove it, but for me it works – got through September and now second week of October and so far – no screaming fits or books being thrown or dogs running for cover – well not over spiders anyway !

The weather is not looking too brilliant for the weekend so if you are planning a clear out – just think twice before you load up everything and take it to the tip. Many of your unwanted things may be just what someone else is looking for, so be sure to think about putting it on your 2good2tip stall first. Keeping stuff out of the tip really does help the environment, not only it is good for all of us but it could put some pennies back in your pocket for that rainy day – and we certainly are getting our fair share of those at the moment!
